  1. I use several of those items already, but the hot glue gun holder jumped to the top of my to-do list. I have already warped one cutting board just from the glue gun tipping over when I was a way from the desk.

  2. Put your accelerant in a needle dropper bottle

Great tips! I will definitely be using some of these. Happy Building, Cory

  4. These kinds of videos are the best. The kind of video I will come back to and watch again and again until I’ve made my own designs. Great video!!

  5. Excellent recommendations brother!πŸ₯ƒπŸ€˜πŸΌ And remember…
If somebody tells you that you have enough craft supplies and that you don’t need anymore, stop talking to them immediately! You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life…

  6. I just may craft the blade holder – I get tired of cap on, cap off, cap on, cap off with the X-Acto, I feel like the Karate Kid πŸ˜›

  7. I have a peg board above my paint station where i have mounted some hefty magnets with bolts to hold my pliers and scalpels.

Interesting small items that contribute to ease of crafting, and safety.
    Ty for the video.

  9. Great vid and there are some ideas in there that I didn’t even know I needed! Love the blade holder and one I will def make!

  10. it would be cool to see a video where you decorate some of those storage pieces to make them into builds. Not sure if there is to much use so that they wouldn’t stand up to it but I thought it would be cool.

A quick tip for those plastic bins: shop for them in the fishing supplies aisle. They’re often cheaper than the equivalent bins found in the crafting aisle!

John great video with a lot of awesome tips. I have been eyeing your glue gun holder for many years trying to figure it out. Thank you for the sneak peak into your studio!

  13. I have so many of those plastic parts organizers, they’re worth every penny.
I love the hot glue gun stand, I’m going to do that, thanks.
Also, for the hobby knife holder, carve out the inside of the angled base and use that to hold your extra blades?
Great video, all good ideas. Thanks!!!

  14. OMG! My head is exploding with ideas to implement these ideas on my crafting table. So many simple but great and cheap ideas to improve our crafting life. Thank you!

  15. One really cheap thing that I’ve come across is a brush holder that Dollar Tree has in their craft isle. I’ve got a few of them because, while it works great for brushes, you can also store a long of other tools in them for easy access

Im new to dioramas and am absolutley loving your channel. I have a question for you concerning the accelerator. One of my other hobbies is aquascaping and we use super glue to attach epiphyte plants to wood or stone but we just use water to make the superglue set. Have you tried that? If so, is there something you like about the accelerator better?

  17. I so appreciate these DIY quality of life showcases– simply gets my mind going with ideas to improve my workflow and hobby area, using what i already have. Thank you!!

  18. you can buy silicone mats for baking for hot glue gun work.

  19. I have a handmade *signed* by John "texture tool". It’s the Holy Grail of crafting tools. Always giving us the kinds of tips that we can’t believe we didn’t think of ourselves.

  20. For any hot glue project you’re working on, use 90% rubbing alcohol to immediately force it to release tension surface. You can also use a sculpting tool and dip it in the alcohol and push it into the lip of where hot glue is holding. You could do that with the PVC pipe if its stuck on too tightly

  21. Luv it❀ thx!

  22. Did you just make a video telling me to use a coffee mug? That’s weird man. 66k subscribers and you tell me it’s "important" to use a coffee mug.

  23. I have been struggling so long with how to use the accelerant. Love this simple solution. Thanks so much!

For sharp stuff, I cut a section of pool noodle the length of my desk edge, split it along one side down to the center hole in the noodle, slide it over your desk/table. It’l pinch and hold on. Stick sharp tools in the noodle handle up. Always ready to go and always safe. Easy place to put stuff when not in use. Even when swapping back and forth between tools. Simple and cheap.

  25. I know the tree things I currently need to make stuff is time, space and a reason.
I like that hot glue holder DIY and the accelerant tip is a good solution.

  26. You show us many good ideas.😊

  27. These are all great ideas. My main challenge, however, is mobility. Sometimes I am crafting and modeling at home, and sometimes I pack everything up (except something important that I always forget) and head into the local game store to model with my friends.

What suggestions do you have for a mobile workspace?

  28. *_It’s fun that you use foam for holding crafting tools…but….behind you are some 3D-printers. You could print out these holders as well; in Fantastical designs._*

  29. Right on, sensei! My crafting table is a mess right now! I could use some of these tips. I made something similar for my scalpel, but also put in a slot for holding all of the new blades, since I have to change it so often. Anyway, great video, my friend. – Rick
